「ジョルジオ アルマーニ」とは
「GIORGIO ARMANI（ジョルジオ アルマーニ）」は、1975年に自身の名で設立したファッションブランド。メインブランドである「ジョルジオ アルマーニ」を中心に「エンポリオ アルマーニ」、オートクチュールの「アルマーニ プリヴェ」などのライン、さらにホテルやレストランなど幅広い事業を展開。
《 略歴 》
1975年：ジョルジオ・アルマーニがセルジオ・ガレオッティと共に「ジョルジオ アルマーニ」社を設立
1981年：ディフュージョンライン「エンポリオ アルマーニ」と「アルマーニ ジーンズ」を発表
1991年；「A|X ARMANI EXCHANGE（A|X アルマーニ エクスチェンジ）」をスタート
1995年：スキーウェアとゴルフウェアを発表
2004年：「アルマーニ ホテル＆リゾート」事業をスタート
2005年：春夏シーズンよりオートクチュールの「ARMANI PRIVE （ジョルジオ アルマーニ プリヴェ）」をパリで発表
2010年：アルマーニとして世界初のホテル「アルマーニ・ホテル・ドバイ」をオープン
2011年：ミラノにホテル2号店をオープン
2017年：「ARMANI COLLEZIONI（アルマーニ コレツィオーニ）」と「ARMANI JEANS（アルマーニ ジーンズ）」を「EMPORIO ARMANI（エンポリオ アルマーニ）」に統合することを発表

「ジョルジオ アルマーニ」のデザイナー
「GIORGIO ARMANI（ジョルジオ アルマーニ）」のデザイナーである”ジョルジオ・アルマーニ”は41歳で「ジョルジオ アルマーニ」社を設立した。
1934年にイタリアのピアチェンツァに生まれ、ミラノ大学医学部に入学したが医学への道には進まなかった。
1957年から1964年までミラノの百貨店「ラ・リナシャンテ」でウィンドウドレッサー・バイヤーを務める。
1965年にセルッティのメンズウェア「ヒットマン」のデザイナーに就任。
1970年にフリーのデザイナーとして独立。
1975年に”セルジオ ガレオッティ”と共に「ジョルジオ アルマーニ」社を設立。
1979年には「エレウノ」のデザイナーに就任。
1980年代後半にソフトスーツを考案して世界中でブームを起こす。
ファッション業界では非常に遅いスタートとなったが、”ジャン・フランコ・フェレ”、”ジャンニ・ヴェルサーチ”とともに頭文字の”G”から『ミラノの3G』と呼ばれるようになり、イタリア・ミラノだけではなく世界のトップブランドデザイナーとなった。
モード界の帝王と呼ばれ完璧主義者「マエストロ・ディ・マエストロ（巨匠中の巨匠）」としても有名である。
